Teachers:


Keith-Derrick Randolph
 
Independent choreographer and teacher Keith-Derrick Randolph trained at the High School of Performing Arts and The (Alvin) Ailey School of American Dance in New York City. He studied ballet with such important teachers as Benjamin Harkarvy, Robert Christopher and modern with Penny Frank and Denise Jefferson. Some of his other teachers include Simon Mottram, Igal Perry, Jay Augen and Hilary Cartwright.

He has spent the last twenty years living and working in Europe teaching, choreographing and dancing. From 1989 till 2004 Randolph was a dancer, choreographer and artistic staff member of the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. He received his Didactic Teacher's Degree in 2005 and is at the moment studying for a Master's Degree in Choreography.

As an independent choreographer he has made works for Korzo Theater and many of the dance academies in Holland. He has also choreographed two of the mandatory contemporary solos for the 2004-2005 Prix de Lausanne. Randolph has taught a.o. at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag and the Bird College of Performing Arts in England. He is now director and choreographer for the Rijswijks Jeugdtheater.


Philipp Stummer (Galili Dance)
 
Philipp Stummer followed his education at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, Austria, and at the Performing Arts Research and Training Studio (P.A.R.T.S.) of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker in Belgium. Stummer danced with: the Austrian companies Esther Linley Dance Company, Andrea Müller's 'Die Tanzenden' and the Bob Curtis Afro-Limon Dance Company.

In 1998 Stummer joined with NND/GALILI DANCE. Based in Groningen, the company began in 1997 when the Dutch Ministry of Culture appointed Itzik Galili as the artistic director of the Dance Foundation of the Northern Netherlands. For his important contribution to dance in the Netherlands, Itzik Galili was awarded the Dutch VSCD Choreopgraphy Prize 2002. Philipp Stummer created a new choreography for the Wisselwerk Project of the Holland Dance Festival.


Dylan Newcomb
 
Composer-choreographer Dylan Newcomb - born in 1971 in Boston - received his education in dance and music at the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts in
Massachusetts and later at the Juilliard School in New York. He moved to the Netherlands when he joined the Nederlans Dans Theater I (NDT) and performed
choreographies by Jirí Kylián, Hans van Manen, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe and many others.

In 1999, just before leaving NDT, Newcomb created the short dance solo: Passing for the company's yearly workshop. Passing went on to appear in different festivals, bringing him the Silver Dance Prize of Holland. Newcomb has created several music and dance works a.o for the CaDance Festival in
The Hague, the Holland dance Festival and KORZO Productions.

For his promising work as a young composer and choreographer he received the prestigious Philip Morris Art Award. And in collaboration with KORZO
productions Newcomb received the Lucas Hoving Award for best Dutch dance production of the year.

Natalia Horecna
 
Natalia Horecna received her education at the Dance Konservatory in Bratislava and Balletschule des Hamburg Ballett. She has been dancing at the National Theatre of Slowakije and The Hamburg Ballet, where she achieved a status as soloist. From 2003 till 2006 she danced at the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. Starting in September 2006 she will be dancing at the Nederlands Dans Theater.
 
The repertoire she performed include work by:
George Balanchine, John Neumeier, Mats Ek, Jiri Kylian, Natalia Makarowa, Ed Wubbe,, Nanine Linning, Yakko Toivonnen, Sjoerd Vreugdenhill and Georg Reischel.
 
Most recently Natalia Horecna performed at the Ballet Gala in Prague and the Holland Dance Festival. As a guesteacher she was invited by Balletschool School Mabel Alter and later this year by the Private Dance Conservatoire in Kosice in Slovakia.


Bruce Michelson

Former balletmaster with the Zurich Ballet and Ballet Gulbenkian in Lisbon:
Bruce Michelson developed an international dancing and teaching career in
both ballet and contemporary dance. He performed principal roles from the
classical repertoire with the Pittsburgh Ballet. Later, he danced with the
Hamburg Ballet, Rambert Dance Company, Geneva Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theater I (1990-94).

As balletmaster, he has been responsible for the works of choreographers
such as Ohad Naharin, Itzik Galili, Mats Ek, Jiri Kylian and Angelin
Preljocaj. His guest teaching engagements have included: La Scala,
Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Charleroi/Danses, Kibbutz Dance Company and in the Netherlands at: Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and Galili Dance. He is also an assistant to Itzik Galili and has remounted the Israeli choreographer's works in Russia, Sweden and the Czech Republic.

Bruce Micheson lives in Florence, Italy.  Summerschool Den Haag invited him to come over to the Netherlands as a guesteacher in the Summer of 2007.


Lonneke van Leth

Lonneke van Leth studied at the High School for Performing Art in Arnhem. She danced a.o. for Introdans, DDDDD and Lopez Ochoa. Since 2002 she is also a choreographer.

Van Leth created several ballets for Theater production House: Generale
Oost, KORZO Theater, The Ice Land Dance Company and the High School for Performing Art in Arnhem. In 2004 she received an award for young artists in The Hague. Recently Lonneke made a choreography for the 45 years jubilee Niëllo of the International Dance Theater.

At this moment she works for Theater aan het Spui in The Hague, for a period of four years. You can see one of her recent productions this summer during De Parade. And in the new season her productions: 'Jeuk' and 'Grip' will go on tour.


Brigitte Martin, former dancer and rehearsal director with the Nederlands Dans Theater. At present teacher at Codarts/Rotterdamse Dansacademie and responsible for setting ballets of Jiri Kilian and Hans van Manen at different companies.

David Middendorp, freelance choreopgrapher a.o. for Ballet Theatre München, KORZO Productions and Introdans.
Former dancer with Introdans, Saarländische State Ballet and The Ballet Theater München (Germany). Former student at Balletschool Mabel Alter.

Henna Lee, danced with the Scapino Ballet for ten years and worked with choregraphers like Ed Wubbe, Itzik Galili, Bianca van Dillen, Thom Stuart and Nanine Linning.

Iva Lesić, former student at Balletschool Mabel Alter, went to the Royal Conservatory in The Hague has been dancing with the International Dance Theatre since 1999.

Jane Lord, danced as first soloist with Dutch National Ballet in classical repertory as well as many ballets by Rudi Van Dantzig, Toer Van Schayk, Sir Frederick Ashton and George Balanchine. Guest teacher at several places including Scapino Ballet and Codarts/Rotterdamse Dansacademie and on the Board of The Dutch Health Care Foundation for Dancers.

Robert Hlatky, former dancer at the Scapino Ballet, received his education at the Conservatoire of Prague and Nationale Balletacademie, Amsterdam. Started his teaching career a.o. as guestteacher at Balletschool Mabel Alter and Codarts/Rotterdamse Dansacademie. He is also committed to the Private Dance Conservatoire in Kosice in Slovakia and earned a Post graduate study in Dance Therapy.

Rinus Sprong, danced with the Netherlands Dans Theater, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, the Bat-Dor Dance Company and performed in Grace the musical en Cabaret Lulu Entertainment (NY). At present has his own production company: De Dutch Don't Dance Division together with Thom Stuart (see also Thom Stuart).

Ruben Brugman, received his education at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and danced with The Dutch Nationale Ballet. He was rewarded by the Dutch 'Dansersfonds' for performing principal roles in Violin Concerto by Balanchine. He has been teaching at Theatre School Amsterdam, Balletschool Mabel Alter and The Benesh Institute.

Thom Stuart, has his own production company: De Dutch Don't Dance Division together with Rinus Sprong. Prodcued a.o. The Manson Family and Fortuna's Wedding for the Parade and the Nutcracker with professional dancers and amateur dancers in cooperation with the Holland Dance Festival. He danced with the Scapino Ballet, Introdans, Feld Ballets (New York) and was a geustteacher a.o. at Bat-Dor Dance Company, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Perry Dance 2 New York and Rotterdamse Dansgroep.
