INSPIRATION PROJECT The Inspiration Project is suitable for young dancers that have graduated or are about to graduate from a professional dance institution and might use the project as an apprenticeship.
The project will give the dancers the opportunity to learn well known classical variations and to work together with a contemporary choreographer from one of the Dutch companies, creating new repertoire.
Dancers that are selected for the project receive a mini scholarship for Summerschool Den Haag, a small grant which will give them free entrance for two months at Balletschool Mabel Alter, personal coaching to learn classical variations and they will work towards a performance. Each dancer will perform one classical variation and new repertoire at the performance. PRODUCTION OVERVIEW July/August: Summerschool Den Haag - the dancers are free to choose their own personal dates for Summerschool. September and October: rehearsals (combination with free entrance at Balletschool Mabel Alter) *End of October: Try Out *First Week November: Performance
*Subject to change

The first Inspiration Project was produced by Mirella Simoncini in 2005 with students from: the Royal Conservatoire Den Haag, Nationale Ballet Academie Amsterdam and Codarts/Rotterdam Dance Academy. The Project has been performing classical repertoire from: Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and Giselle by Simoncini after Petipa and Perrot & Coralli. And new repertoire especially created for the project was made by: Keith-Derrick Randolph (a.o. Scapino Ballet Rotterdam). Simoncini's Spanish Dance from Coppelia after Petipa - created for Inspiration Project I - was broadcasted by the NOS during a performance for the Dutch Queen Beatrix. Each version of the Inspiration Project has received support in many ways a.o. KORZO and the Nederlands Dans Theater offered rehearsal space, the Rotterdamse Dansacademie took care of the wardrobe. And the Scapino Ballet and Flevo Dance Wear gave the dancers free pointe shoe's.
